Repeats success: Free activities for students

Aarhus Try Out is once again offering free extracurricular activities to students. The aim is to encourage more students to get involved in clubs and associations alongside their studies.

Whether you want to try underwater rugby, live-action role-playing or learn to play “Kin-Ball”, there is something for everyone on the Aarhus Try Out website (In Danish, ed.). Registration opened on 24 August, and participants can choose from more than 180 activities, nearly 100 of them different from one another.

The project is a repeat of 2025, where almost 4,000 students ended up participating. From 1 September to 30 November, students can once again take part in Aarhus Try Out and explore a wide range of activities free of charge.

The City of Aarhus has allocated 9,000 spots for the city’s 43,000 students enrolled in higher education programmes.

Collaboration with AU Sport

As a new initiative at this year's Aarhus Try Out, the municipality is collaborating with AU Sport and Fitness.

New opportunities for AU students to engage in sports and community on campus in Aarhus

This means that the associations will be able to make use of AU Sport and Fitness’s new facilities on Trøjborgvej, including the two sports halls, the mirrored studio and the “hangout area”. In addition, these associations will be given priority when booking facilities through to next year’s summer holiday.
