Reply: Essential to discuss IT and work environment
Olav W. Bertelsen raises an important issue in his opinion piece about how IT systems affect our work lives. This is what University Director Kristian Thorn writes in his reply, where he welcomes the desire to discuss AU's systems.
Thank you, Olav W. Bertelsen, for bringing up an important topic: how IT systems affect our work lives.
IT systems have increasingly become essential components of administration, teaching and research. The systems offer opportunities for improved user experiences, better overview and greater efficiency in task fulfilment, among other things. As Olav W. Bertelsen points out, however, they can also lead to frustration and pose challenges to the working environment.
I welcome the desire to discuss AU's systems. Fortunately, this has already been an ongoing conversation in the occupational health and safety organisation and in the liaison committees, and I look forward to continuing the dialogue. Successful IT implementation is about technology, but above all, it’s about organisation and users. Let's work together to gain experience and create the best possible digital infrastructure for employees and students at Aarhus University.
