For the sixth year in a row, hundreds of students and employees will gather on Saturday, 16 May, for the AU Run in the University Park.

Update 13 May: Aarhus’ mayor and former AU student of political science, Anders Winnerskjold, will be on the starting line on Saturday. This is according to a Facebook update by the Student Council.

You don't have to be Sabastian Sawe or Jacob Simonsen, or own 99-gram running shoes to participate in this year's AU Run on 16 May.

“AU Run is for everyone, both the experienced runners and those who want to take it easy,” writes the organizers from the Student Council, Studenterhus Aarhus, and Aarhus University Sport on the registration page.

The price for participating is the small sum of 80 DKK for students and 150 DKK for non-students, regardless of whether you run 5 or 10 kilometres, which are the two distances you can choose between.

More prizes up for grabs

There will be prizes for the fastest runners at each distance, but also for the most average “median runner” as well as for the best costume and for the study with the most runners registered.

But even if you're not fast or lucky enough to win a prize at the end, the entrance fee will still get you a t-shirt and a running number, plus a sweaty tour of the University Park.

After the race, there will be activities, music, and drinks in the park.
