International evaluation of AU in 2016

The senior management team is planning an international evaluation of the academic development process in 2016.

“We want international experts to take a look at us from the outside and tells us whether AU has reached the goal that we set out for ourselves in 2011. Have we, as an example, got efficient cooperation across the organisation, do we contribute to the solving of important issues for society at large, and does the university obtain the large research grants that are necessary,” says rector Brian Bech Nielsen.

As a relevant performance metric in the international evaluation the rector points to Horizon 2020, the EU’s support programme for research and innovation with a total budget of EUR 70.2 billion.

“A performance metric will guaranteed be how well we do in the research programme called Societal Challenges i Horizon 2020.”

The senior management team has not yet taken a decision on who should carry out the evaluation.
