Jeppe Kaas, chair of the ARTScouncil: students are concerned about the quality of their degree programmes

“We still haven’t seen a specific proposal for how the faculty will cope with the resizing initiative. But based on what’s been presented so far, we’re worried about the quality of the degree programmes and whether we’ll be given enough teaching.

Some people already have too little teaching, and the resizing initiative can only make this worse. And some students on degree programmes where there are plans for mergers are worried that teaching the same methodology for multiple subjects will reduce academic standards.

But we’re pleased to see that they haven’t simply decided to take some hasty decisions, and we’re keen to work together to find solutions.”
