Randi, would you choose a one-year Master's thesis?

I would like to have had more time for my Master's thesis, but not at the expense of the third semester. In fact, it was the best semester I had during my studies.

The opportunity of a placement at an upper secondary school in the third semester has improved my job prospects. And the courses I took have also given me some subject-related didactic tools that I wouldn’t want to do without.

In addition, the Master’s section is already not very long, so if you have to spend two whole semesters on your Master's thesis, you’re going to really limit how much teaching you have in total in your main subject.

If you write a subject-related didactic Master's thesis, then I can see how you could be able to incorporate an internship or placement, but I’m writing a theoretical Master's thesis about metaphors, so that wouldn’t work for me.

Plus, maybe I’m not best at sitting alone with my project, so a whole year would be a long time. I really like getting input from some lecturers. They’re the people who know about the subject.
