Example of a case dealt with by the Research Practices Committee: Differences of opinion about authorship
Two researchers, who had worked closely together on a project, subsequently disagreed about the question of authorship. The researches disagreed over whether they could publish any of the material solely in their own name. One of the researchers ended up submitting a complaint about the other.
The researcher who was the subject of the complaint subsequently received a reprimand for failure to sufficiently name the other researcher in a publication he published in his own name.
